Sign in a grocery store window |
Day late on this assignment!
The sign says "non stop" but then posts hours open from "9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.". Hmmmm....
What this means in Paris is that they don't close mid-afternoon for lunch which by Paris standards is something rare and deserves acclimation! What do you think my U.S. peeps? Grocery stores (usually the smaller ones) that close for 1 to 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon for their employees to have lunch?
Then I noticed in small print at the bottom of the sign "Ferme le mardi" which means "closed on Tuesday"! Yep, really putting that "Non Stop" claim to the test!
